Why is prayer about more than simply requests or answers?

Prayer is more than simply requests or answers because God wants a relationship with us and relationships aren’t only about requests and answers. If any of us were in a relationship where the other person only had requests of us, we’d feel used. In the same way, we must relate to God in ways that are more than about getting what we want from Him. He deserves and is worthy of much more than that from us!

It is about your relationship with God and it is a way to show your love and appreciate for him. It is a great way to grow your relationship with him.

In order to build relationship, we must spend time with another. In a strong marriage we’ll spend time and conversation with a spouse to get to know them in where they are in life. As the children of our Lord, we pray to build relationship with our Lord. Yes he does know what we are to pray before we say it, however as we spill our our hearts, our pains, struggles, heartbreaks, and praise, joys, we come to hear from God in where he is leading us. We grow, and become transformed in our thoughts and in what we do by living this life as he created us to live it.

Prayer is my personal time with God to talk about everything that’s going on with me. I talk about gaining wisdom to handle the good times and the difficult times in my life. I find comfort after my conversation with Him to handle whatever is put before me.
