Why is prayer about more than simply requests or answers?

Prayer is spending time with God. You should not pray to simply request something or just want an answer. Requests are something we hope to get but God is not a vending machine where you put your money in, and your request is granted. God will provide an answer it just may not be on your timeline, everything God does is based on what is in our best interest and we should pray with the expectation that God will provide what we need.

Prayer is about the relationship. It is meant to draw me in relationship with Christ closer and closer as I spend time with Him. I am learning to continue to ask and to seek intervention for His children, even when my prayers go unanswered.

Prayer is communion and is the way we express our hearts to God because God loves His children who pray to Him.
