True prayer is being real with God. If you are happy, tell Him you are happy. Feeling exceptionally blessed? Tell Him. Feeling really thankful for something in particular? Let Him know. However, if you are discouraged, unhappy, sad, angry lost, confused, tell Him that as well. If you find yourself angry at God because you feel He isn’t listening to you or you feel he doesn’t care about your situation, then we need to go to Him then and tell Him how we feel also. He wants to us to unload on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7)

True prayer is about relationship . The loving Father knows my heart and wants me to know His heart. He wants to hear from the “real “ me . He hears when I share my struggles and concerns. He will give me strength and help.

Having access and opportunity to even come to God, in and of itself is awesome.
I’m so grateful that I don’t have to go to someone else. I can come straight to the King and speak with Him.
I love that He always has time for me.
I love how I can just be honest with Him.
I love that I don’t have to hide my feelings or thoughts from Him. That He understands me more than I understand myself.

True prayer seems to be a state of being, rather than a person trying to string words together. Prayer is communicating with God, and humans communicate in more ways than speech. Posture, facial expressions, even thoughts, can be prayers, as God is able to know our thoughts and feelings even when we don’t.
