Why is true prayer about more than just words?

It is all about relationship. I liked how he talked about God not saying that we have to get the words right before we can talk to Him. As a mother or a teacher, I would never dream of telling my child or a student that they couldn’t come to me unless they spoke a certain way or with a certain vocabulary. That image he used helped me.

Because it must be uttered with my heart, with my true self without borrowing or imitating others

It is about relationship. It is spending time with God. Hopefully it grows to a place of two way communication.
