Why is true prayer about more than just words?

True prayer is about being yourself and giving God your heart. If prayers are about our words only then it becomes a show. God wants us to build a relationship with him through prayer. If prayer is about being your true self and building a relationship, then God will reward you openly.

Because it is about being in relationship with our Heavenly Father.

Prayer is more than just mere words. Prayer has substance and is our means of communicating with our heavenly Father. Prayer is alive. Our words are powerful. It is also a chat with a dear friend. This special friend wants to hear from me regularly and only wants the best for me. What concerns me concerns Him. God wants to be intimately involved in my life through prayer but I must send out the invitation.
