He already knows everything, including what is going on in my heart, but to verbalize it, speak it out to Him… again, best feeling in the world.

There are times when we are so full of joy or of sorrow that we can only just be in His presence and not speak. It also involves listening as the Lord speaks to our hearts with a still small voice. I like what Pastor Banks had to say about posture and how our postures reflect what is in our hearts during our prayers with God.

My relationship with my wife is more than the words we exchange with one another – It includes the time we spend in one another’s company. The ability to just be in one another’s presence, and to find security and comfort with one another, is similar to prayer with the Lord. We come to Him, spend time in His presence, because we find peace in the relationship. We come back to prayer because it refreshes our soul, just like time with my wife at the end of the day.
