Why is what you believe about creation important to your role as a Christian educator?

What I believe about creation is imporatant to my role as a teacehre because God has created every human being in his image. Because of that, each child I teach has value, not in what they can accomplish or learn, but just by being them.

It’s important to understand what the scripture says about creation. All our teaching should flow from the Word and answers to life’s fundamental questions should be answered through this teaching. We need to know what the Word says and be able to teach it to the next generation.

One of the biggest questions in life is “Where do we come from?” If we want to teach and address this question, we need to understand it and believe it ourselves.

The creation account is fundamental to our understanding of order, nature/universe, man and woman’s design and purpose on earth, as well as their relationship to God. These subjects underpin and provide the foundation for many of the disciplines taught in school.

What I believe about creation is important because this will affect the way I treat others as image bearers and the way I understand everyone’s origins.
