This drives the decisions I make and the lens through which I view education. I want my students to know there is a creator and that He loves them. They need to know the creation mandate especially in my course (science). This is crucial to their understanding of the world around them.

So Genesis is clear that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Then we have to understand that this purposeful design was to establish that everything on and in the earth has a beginning and end. God is the author and finisher of our faith but we are meant to be eternal beings who will one day be at home with our creator – to know him, commune with Him and understand or fully realize our uniqueness. It is important to teach that God created us in His very image, yet we all are very diverse in our outward appearance, culture, heritage. These intricacies couldn’t have just happened. We need students to understand their value and worth to God because often their value and worth will be measured against standards that are not in alignment with the truth of what scripture states.
