My role is important because if I am teaching from a biblical worldview then I am relying on God’s Word. God says that he created the universe and all that is on Earth and I believe Him.

I have to believe the information in Genesis about creation in order to help my students discern real from fiction. I need to be able to explain the book of Genesis in order to instruct my students.

What I believe about creation is one of the foundational questions on which my overall worldview is established. Therefor, my beliefs about creation will determine what I believe about myself and my students and my purpose in teaching them. It is also important because math is the exploration into Gods orderly design of the universe and thus the topic of creation and the beginning of the world will naturally come up as we delve into the precision with which the world functions and exists.

What I believe about creation has everything to do about who I am in Christ and my role to allow others to experience their creator by letting them know that they are not an accident. God knew they were going to be born where, when and with what parents and siblings (or no siblings).
