What we believe in is what we try to understand. Understanding usually establishes us to have dominion over a concept or issue. As a Christian educator, my understanding of God’s creation has enabled me to transfer that knowledge to my students.

It is important that a teacher believe that the world was designed and intentionally created, and that people were intentionally created. That gives purpose and meaning to life. It gives the students who are made in God’s image value as unique in God’s plan of creation and restoration.

What we believe about creation is important because we have to know the truth behind who created us and why we were put on this Earth. In this world, we also need our students to know who created them and that they were made in the image of God. We have to know the truth so that we can teach it correctly.

Having a correct understanding of creation is important because it really does affect how I teach my discipline. Knowing about how God created the world as perfect but then the fall of man marred all of that is important, especially when dealing with literature where a fallen world is on full display and must be analyzed according to the Bible.

It’s important what I believe about creation because that is what I am teaching my students. If I don’t believe that God created the world, then it would come out in my teaching and I wouldn’t be teaching the truth. I would not be teaching what the Bible teaches us. I would not be instilling God’s word into my students.
