Deleted User05/22/2022 at 21:25It was the destruction of Jerusalem and tells us how Jeremiah was saddened by his people’s disobedience to God and not following what they have been taught time and again.

Deleted User05/09/2022 at 20:34Because it contains the laments of Jeremiah over the fall of Jerusalem. Life in this world frequently involves suffering and failure—a time to weep or mourn. It’s thus realistic for God’s Word to include elements of weeping and mourning as that is what life is like now.

Deleted User04/16/2022 at 15:17The prophet Jerimiah is lamenting the destruction of Jerusalem in this book. He details the devastation of the siege, and the suffering and famine. Lamentations 3:22-24 shows the parallel to life.
22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;
therefore I will wait for him.” -

Deleted User04/16/2022 at 00:05God’s people continually failed, as represented in the Old Testament. Jeremiah lamented over this situation. We continue to do this even today, and God, through His own lamenting gave us a way out of continual failure.

Deleted User04/14/2022 at 15:50Jeremiah lamented over the spiritual condition of Israel, this constant rebellion , followed by repentance followed by rebellion seemingly on an constant loop. It is much like our lives , the battle between good and evil , the spirit and the flesh ,only now we have the full mercy and grace of Christ.
There is therefore now no condemnation for them that are in Christ Jesus.
