The book of Lamentations was given the title due to the sorrow and destruction of Jerusalem and the dis obedience of the people.

Lamentations is the book that shows the sadness and heartbreak Jeremiah had over the destruction of Jerusalem and the captivity of the Jewish people. There are things happening even now in this life that are heartbreaking, sad to witness,experience, be aware of. Lamentations shows that humans will experience some form of sadness due to destruction and some form of captivity.
