We also live in a fallen world, where people have turned from God and the world is not as it should be. We need to cry out to God for forgiveness and guidance as well.

It was given his title because of all of the actions that the people of God went through because of their disobedience to God. It shows us a realistic view of life because it shows that our actions have consequences and those consequences can also be very dire if we continue and sin long enough.

This is very realistic of the human condition. We often lament over things that happen in our lives, most of the time of our own doing, and get frusterated and angry over the consequences that that disobedience causes.

Lamentations was written by Jeremiah as he lamented over the destruction of Jerusalem and the exile of her people. He is distraught, which is a completely human emotion, one that we can feel ourselves. God shows us that He understands, but He is still there for us.
