The City of Jerusalem is destroyed, the people are going into captivity, and Lamentations are the recorded feelings of Jeremiah as he witnesses these events. It is a realisit c view of life as it captures the raw emotional responses of a man who was undergoing significant trial, and experiencing significant pain, and thereofre there are touchpoints for the People of God in each generation. Similarly within the book of Lamentations are strong rays of hope based upon the Mercy and Steadfat love of God for His People. Again this presents a vision of hope for those undergoing significant trial in every generation.
