The Old Testament is the foundation of the Bible.; without knowledge of it, we would be unable to understand the Bible in its entirety. The Old Testament tells about Jesus and provides the foundation for faith in Christ setting the stage for the New Testament.

The OT is the foundation of the whole Bible. It’s the promises and expections that are written in the OT and foreshadowing of Jesus Christ to come. The NT is the fulfillment and completion of the OT. By learning the history and prophecies in the OT we can better understand the NT and enhance our understanding and knowledge of Jesus.

The OT was quoted by every writer of the NT. It is their foundation for their faith and is where we should also build our foundation.

Because it answers the questions about our origin, what is salvation and what is our destiny
