We cannot fully understand or appreciate what God did through Jesus Christ our Savior without understanding Creation and sin and everything God did for the first 1400 years before Jesus came.

I think it cheapens grace.
To receive Jesus as my savior without having a full grasp of the understanding of what that means. The Old Testament adds color to black and white stories. Every reference adds a backstory.
I’ll cautiously compare it to waltzing into a culture different that your own and claim to understand because you read an infographic once.

How can we know what the prophecies are unless you have studied the Old Testament? You would have to know what has happened in the past, and understand who God is and what his future holds for us.

We wouldnt fully understand the background of the bible, God’s personailty , or the basis of a lot of principles.

A lack of knowledge doesn’t give the whole picture of God. God is more than love. He’s also holy, jealous, full of wrath, and just.
