The Old Testament provides the foundation upon which the New Testament is built. It offers the theological, historical, and cultural context necessary to fully grasp the teachings, narratives, and symbolism of the New Testament. A lack of knowledge of the Old Testament can result in a limited understanding of the broader biblical narrative and the rich theological connections between the two testaments.

The coming of Jesus is so based on the all the things that are happening in the OT. Who God is, How to save us from sin. We won’t truly be amazed by Jesus and NT until we have a deep understanding of OT.

Because we wouldn’t understand not having the whole story. We need the old and new testament as a whole.

Because it is the foundation that we need to build upon. We can’t run before we walk.

It is because the Old Testament is the foundational truth. It helps us to know God better and gives us a deeper understanding so we can grow in our faith.
