The Old Testament provides a foundation for us, and it shows why we need to fear, love and worship God.

Without understanding of the Old Testament, a reader would be confused in reading the New Testament. It would be like picking up a book and starting in the middle. We would learn a lot but would have so many questions. Who is that? What’s he talking about? We would not have a full grasp of the meaning and reasons behind so many things in the NT.

It provides the foundation for the whole Bible. Without this, I believe it would be hard to understand God’s love for us and why it was necessary to sacrifice His only Son for our sins.

The OT is the foundation, context ,and continual reminder we need of about God’s immutible and perfect Plan for our redemption set in Christ.
