It would be like Cliff Notes of God’s promises to us. Jesus tells us the what but the Old Testament tells us the why and how and where.

The Old Testament shows us what God wants from us. What He has always wanted from us and how He has dealt with humans struggle to be meet earthly challenges and desires.

We need to know where things started and to see the history of promises made and those broken by man in order to fully understand the journey. Just as people who lived in biblical times waited generations for Jesus to be born, have the promise that He will come again.

It would be like starting a novel in the middle. It is the foundation of the story. It shows us God’s character.

I would not be able to know God’s character to develop a deeper relationship with him. Discern his voice and what is truth.
