Why would a lack of knowledge of the Old Testament weaken our understanding of the New Testament?

When we don’t study the Old Testament, we can misinterpret scripture. We will not understand parts of New Testament. We miss out parts of the Bible that help us understand God, Jesus Christ, and especially Jesus’s work on the cross.

Because Christ often quoted from the Old Testament. Paul as a writer of much of the New Testament was well versed in the Old Testament.

I think that the visual of the Old Testament as the foundation of the Cathedral being the Bible is the perfect visual for understanding the importance of the New Testament.

There are so many refences to the OT in the NT. The NT is the completion of the OT. Without the OT, we loose the sinifcance of the NT and to what many are referring.
