Why would a lack of knowledge of the Old Testament weaken our understanding of the New Testament?

It will leave us with a distorted, diminished and altered view of Christ. We will not grasp the fully character and heart of God without seeing history and Gods plans unravel in the old testament

Without a solid knowledge of the Old Testament, it would be difficult to fully understand the many references of the Old Testament that we find in the New Testament.

The Old Testament tells stories that strengthens your faith and how God works in the life of ordinary people without that knowledge you could not appreciate the New Testament.

There are so many references to the Old Testament in the New Testament which really bring together the full picture of God’s redemption of mankind. These would be difficult to understand if you did not have a good knowledge of the Old Testament.

In order to understand our present, we must understand our past and our beginning. The OT is the foundation of the knowledge of God and His Kingdom.
