The lack of knowledge of the Old Testament weakens our understanding of the New Testament because we don’t have the foundation in place to build upon in knowing God.

The New Testament is a continuation of the Old Testament, we would be lost.

Not understanding that the Old Testament is full of Gods promises and the prophecies, takes away the magnitude of what actually happens in the New Testament.

Failure to understand the Old Testament weakens…
1. One’s appreciation of the Christian faith
2. One’s knowledge about God, His plan, will and promises
3. A persons resolve to God’s standards
4. Ones understanding of redemption as it unfolds through various covenants and situations. -
The OT shows us who God is, the history of the Israelites, and why we needed a savior in Jesus Christ. It also prophecies Jesus and His coming.
