Because Old Testament is intro to New Testament and without knowing what happened in old days, we would have hard time to understand New Testament

The OT is foundational to our understanding of the NT. It provides the prophecy that the NT answers.

The New Testament cannot be interpreted correctly apart from the Old Testament. When the New Testament authors wrote about Jesus teaching and explaining the Scriptures, and as they wrote about sharing “the Word” with others, it was the Old Testament Scriptures that were being taught, explained, and shared.

We would not understand our need for Jesus. We would not see how great Jesus was / is because He fulfilled the law and prophecies of the Old Testament.

The Old Testament shows us why we need Jesus and without that knowledge we might not appreciate what Jesus has done for us as much as we do with that understanding.
