Without the Old Testament, the story of GOD and man is incomplete. People need to understand that you learn so much about God forgiveness more in the Old Testament than even in the New. I believe this is because of how often God had come to the rescue of individuals and collective groups of people. He judged, punished, and he forgave so much. People can learn a lot about his character in the Old Testament as well.

The Old Testament is the foundation of humanity and the description of the character of God. It holds the expectations and promises that the New Testament will unfold, reveal and complete. The Old Testament contains the characters and events that define our need for a Savior.
