Whatever happens in the New Testament is a fruition of what remotely occurs in the Old Testament. Therefore a solid understanding of the New Testament is dependent on a good knowledge of the Old Testament.

LAck of knowledge of the Old Testament would weaken our understanding of the new Testament as we would not know the foundations of everything. We would not know God’s story, our Story and story of everything that is created. Without Old Testament we cannot understand a New Testament.

It’s just like a building. Why would you build the top half of the structure before making sure you have a stable foundation on bottom. You have to understand how it all began and why we need Jesus and the importance of living a christian lifestyle and obeying God.

We can’t understand the full story of why Jesus was born unto this earth and why his death is so important to us all then and today.

We wouldn’t understand as well why Jesus came i.e. why He needed to come, or that God’s love is the motivator behind Jesus’ coming.
