Jonah’s Journey
Jonah is a prophet from Ephraim who declared that God would expand Israel’s borders. This prophet is asked to leave the hills of Ephraim to preach to Israel’s enemies (Jonah 1:1).
Notice Jonah’s two movements: 1) He heads west, away from Nineveh, and down in elevation, 2) After being swallowed by the fish, Jonah heads east and up from the sea into the hills of Assyria.
