Reading the Old Testament

What do you do with passages in the Old Testament that can be troubling? Many in our day struggle to know how to respond to texts that present acts of genocide or brutality, among other things. This week, pull a chair up to the table with the Discover the Word group as they look at such a passage (Ezra 10), and see if we can find some handrails to help us work with and even appreciate the value of these inspired, but difficult, portions of scripture.
