If you find the Old Testament too Jewish or somehow irrelevant today, you may sympathize with Marcion of Sinope. His proposed canon included only 11 books, and some of these were heavily edited. The Old Testament was rejected as a whole for its Jewishness, and 10 of the 11 books of Marcion’s Bible were letters of Paul, which were edited to suit Marcion’s theological views. He accepted only one Gospel as the 11th book in his canon.
