Memory Verse

“Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as being in control of everything. Riches and honor come from you alone, and you are the Ruler of all mankind; your hand controls power and might and it is at your discretion that men are made great and given strength” (1 Chronicles 29: 11-12, TLB).

Compass Commentary

God created us in His image and He knows our needs better than we do. He knows that we need food, water and clothing. If God cares about the birds enough to supply them with food, then how can we waste a moment in worry? What a beautiful comparison is made between clothing and the magnificence of flowers. So many colors, designs, and fragrances for each flower type, yet Jesus tells us that our Father will provide the clothes we need, even better than the “clothes” of flowers of the field. God knows that we need food, drink and clothing, and He will provide us what we need. But what does He want from us? To seek His kingdom and His righteousness with all of our heart, mind and soul, and in turn our needs will be met. Just don’t worry!
