What in the notes did you find revealing, interesting or challenging?

I found it extremely interesting and revealing that valuing money directly competes against God. We should all learn to be good stewards of God’s money.
-
I found revealing, interesting or challenging in the notes that God owns all so we must surrender all including our minds, our hearts, and our pocketbooks.
From the notes:
“Martin Luther recognized this struggle when he said, “There are three conversions: the conversion of the heart, of the mind and of the pocketbook.””
-
God knows our needs, He knows everything. I don’t have to worry because He’s in control!
-
A lot of people want to be recognized and own lots of material possessions, not thinking about God unless in an emergency!
As a Christian I learned that He is in control and owns everything even money, so I trust God with His money that I steward in my life.
-
The most revealing part for me is where instead of asking ‘God how do you want me to spend my money’ – change it to ‘Your (Gods) money. This change in ownership completely changes how I plan to spend money going forwards. As for example, I probably not going to be buying another cute pen that I saw in the shop as I have 20 cute pens already at home, it encourages to be more responsible and keep asking myself what God wants me to do with His money. Also I like the fact that spending this way becomes a spiritual decision.

How have you seen money being a competitor with Jesus in people’s lives today?

Money is a competitor when we decide to work instead of going to church. Also, when we chose not to pay tithes to the church. When we pay our tithes, its saying that we put God first.
-
Because of our low personal nature, it is very difficult to accept to let go of thinking about money as ours. Because it is deeply ingrained in the mind. However we need to know to repent and change the perception of money or everything is God’s and we are just housekeepers.
-
Money is a competitor, if not the biggest. As a person who believes in giving, weather to the church or local community, I’ve encountered many who have a hard time believing and turning to Jesus because they say, “I’m not giving that preacher my money”, or “If people want what I have, they need to work like I did.” So many of us don’t realize that all that I have comes from and belongs to Him.
-
Money is a huge temptation in the life of a disciple of Jesus. It governs the focus and decisions of God’s followers. However, to please God, we must choose Him over money and realize that everything we have was given to us by God.
-
‘Chasing the dream’ and ‘Keep up with the Jones’ are 2 slogans that come to mind. How we choose to handle money drastically affects who we are. It’s not always bad, but 1 common thing is emphasis on me.

God wants me to submit and completely entrust my life to Him including personal financial money. I want to be a faithful servant who keeps things that belong to God and pleases God in all my decisions.
-
I agree to all comments so far. According to the scriptures read and notes, He wants me to be a faithful and wise manager over the portion of finances entrusted to me.
-
God wants me to become a faithful steward of His graces. And ask God before making money decisions
-
This is tough, I do agree being a good steward, but I need to learn more.
-
The Lord wants me to be a good steward over His money and make good Godly spending decisions.
