Yes, I have to defend my faith. I’m not sure I used appropriate wording though. One big one is, if God is real and so loving why did this or that happen to me.

Yes, to family members and non family members alike. Those who cannot understand a God that allows suffering; a God that demanded the killing of a whole people in the Old Testament; and when the so called people of God act in such an opposite character than the God they supposedly represent. Many times, I have been able to explain this in terms I understand and accept, but the reason I am digging deeper and taking this course is to be able to reach these people better by obtaining a better understanding of each of these things myself.

Yes. There have been many times I have been called on to defend the faith. Sometimes from people who are hostile to the faith, but most of the time to people who are just seeking clarification. Most recently, I’ve had a young girl who I teach at a Christian school asking deep questions that have challenged me to provide clear answers.

Yes. Many of my friends are agnostic so I have to on occasion give a defense of my faith when the subject comes up.

I think any time I have been challenge has been by a family member, especially one of the younger generation. I’m not certain I always shared the best or clearest way possible.
