Based on your answer, how could God have accomplished these ends in any other way?

Since He IS the Great I AM, and the mysteries of his plans for us are unknown to us . I cannot think of a better way to show the world who he is.
-
God is Creator – He has the power and ability to create the worlds from nothing, so implanting His Son in a virgin’s womb is a minuscule task for our great God.
-
God could always accomplish His goals in any method He chooses, but He wanted to fulfill the Old Testament prophesies so that the people would believe.
-
there would be no other way if God wanted to make sure no human could dispute it. This is why God made sure the number of soldiers Gideon could use were 300 not thousands. He wanted to make sure we humans would know the victory was due to Him and Him alone. With the number of soldiers so small, a victory without God would be impossible whereas it could be possible if they numbered in the thousands and out numbered their enemy.

God could have accomplished these ends any way he would have liked. However, the virgin birth fulfilled the Old Testament Prophecies. God accomplished what He said he would the way it was said that He would.

If the virgin birth took place, what would be God’s purpose for Jesus being born in this manner?

God purpose would be for Jesus to be born of the spirit as well as the flesh and to be born as sinless, not conceived from man and woman being intimate.
-
Gods purpose for Jesus being born in this manner is so that Jesus would be the perfect one, without sin so that he could die on the Cross for our sin.
-
So he could be born without sin and experience his creation
-
Fully experiencing and identifying with His creation, at the same time becoming our sinless sacrifice to reconcile humankind to God.
-
It was to show that he was not really from this world, that he did not start out with sin. He was separated from it.

Why is the virgin birth such a departure from what we know of human biology?

The Virgin Birth is such a departure from what we know of human biology because.. it’ was done by the supernatural power of God. And that is why today… theologians believe that people don’t believe in Jesus as the son of God.
-
What seems so obvious to us in the natural, without faith can seem impossible in the supernatural
-
Because we follow natural processes, birth being one of those. His birth was a supernatural event, a miraculous event.
-
The virgin birth goes against all we know about how a child is conceived. Even with all the advancement in science and the ability to fertilize eggs outside of the womb, human life will always need two things, a sperm and an egg, a man and a woman to be created. We have to believe that God is able to create life however he chooses and doesn’t need the conventional means to do so. He did create the heavens and the earth by just speaking after all.
