This is a wonderful reminder for me to get back to the heart of God, to check my own motives – ruling passions, and to remember that God wants us to be agents of healing in the earth.

I don’t really know as I have never done this before so I guess that part of me is apprehensive and the other part excited and ready to learn more.

After this review of the Ten Concepts of the Basic Model of Soulcare, I have been stirred to really engage and listen to people. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I want to be able to know, explore, discover, and touch the lives of people that will cause them to hunger or have a deeper hunger for God. As I seek the wisdom of God I will come into a greater understanding of how to enter a person’s soul.

First off, I have to take a step back and understand how limited I am because of the brokenness of my humanity. It is an extreme privilege to enter into someone’s life, to go way below the surface and to see what is hidden. I remember that I am not trying to fix them, but maybe redirect or reframe the thinking into developing an unquenchable desire for their relationship with God. I cannot judge because I know how messed up I am deep inside. If I can discover the honest and practical story, If I can explore the internal motivation, if I can know my brother/sister like that, maybe the Holy Spirit can lead me in displaying a compelling vision to redirect the thinking into desiring God in a way that makes them more effective for the Kingdom of God. In that, I would focus on Jesus.

After reviewing the 10 key concepts, I felt there are much work to do within me. Felt overwhelmed and apprehensive. Felt inadequate. Dr Crabb encouraged that we are to embrace the feeling of inadequacy and to look to God for the power of the Holy Spirit to help us to help others.
