Explain, in your own words, Dr. Black’s visual of a book in the middle of two Bibles. What is she illustrating with this visual?

What we teach our students our curriculum needs to be allied/in the Word of God. The Word of God is the covering and foundation.

Everything gets sandwiched between the Bible! Lessons, assessments, curriculum… it all should start and end being filtered through a Biblical lens.

Dr Black’s visual demonstrates that whatever we do we must always base it on our scripture. Especially in educational field we must include or combine scripture in our teaching methodology.

All that we do as Christian educators (curriculum, scope & sequence, assessments, etc.) should be sandwiched by Scripture.

What are some techniques you have used, or currently use, to encourage a growth mindset in yourself?

To encourage a growth mindset, I like to do my devotions and studying in a quiet place where I can be alone. I use various study tools such as commentaries or different versions of the Bible. I also like to research how other people have studied the same thing.

Remove distractions to be present. Try to learn something new or try something new each day.

I am a lifelong learner and have always been actively interested in the acquisition of knowledge as well as deep reflection in my experiences and reading to ask what God wants me to know and apply from each

I have bible study/ discussions every morning at 6am with my church.

In order for me to be relevent to my students and peers I must be a life long learner.

What do you hope to gain from this course?

Through this course, I hope to find effective ways to integrate a biblical worldview into all areas that I am asked to teach.

My hope is to find was to integrate God’s word in all areas of my curriculum.

I’m looking for additional tools and ideas to further incorporate biblical integration into the classroom to make an impact on the students.
