Megachurch emphasizes the size of large-scale weekly gatherings while Meta church focuses on the smaller programs and flexibility of providing a more personalized experience for worship and spiritual growth. I believe that a Megachurch should build/structure a meta church within it. The meta church is what places emphasis on the congregation’s foundation which should contribute to the church Body which in some cases makes up the Megachurch.

MegaChurch is a church with a weekly membership of 2,000 members or more. Mega Churches emphasize the importance of small groups, discipleship, and an emphasis on sharing. Obviously, these are not mutually exclusive.

The difference between a meta church and a mega church is a meta church is a church broken down into smaller groups studying God word whereas the mega church is a very large church with a huge weekly attendance.

The difference between the two is as follows:

Metachurch refers to a transformed church while mega church refers to a large crowd of people most of whom have not experienced the new birth.

We commonly use the English word “church” in reference to the two biblical meanings: the physical building where we worship, and the denomination of which we worship and in reference to the two scriptural meanings: the universal church or all God’s people and the local church or the body of people that make up the church in the community.

    1. A political council of free citizens

    2. The second use is the Jewish collection of Old Testaments

    3. The third usage is the Christian Church, and that’s of course how we use it, and most other New Testament passages refer to the Christian Church in a universal or local form.
