They are both parts of the same story. God revealed himself to us through all of scripture.

Without the New Testament, the Old Testament leaves one hanging. Without the Old Testament, the story begins in the middle. We need the OT to tell the beginning of the story that God created us, loves us, and wants fellowship with us. However, we are separated from Him by sin. The New Testament brings the answer to our separation: Jesus Christ. With Christ’s atoning death and resurrection, we have life with God for eternity. Both sections are essential in understanding the full story of what God prepared for us since the beginning of time.

The Old Testament and the New

    Testament are interconnected.

In a person’s quest in understanding

    God’s word, both testaments should

    be read.

It is important to read both because there are prophecies in the
Old Testament about Christ that come true in the New Testament.

It is important to read the New and Old testament together because together, they complete the story of the Bible. The Old Testament is the beginning that stops in the middle, and the New Testament starts in the middle and has the ending. Neither story is complete without the other.
