Historical background questions stood out to me most because getting the context of the writing is key to understanding what is being communicated. So often, things can be misinterpreted by not understanding the intent or the context in which something was written. This type of question will help my study of the New Testament by providing the necessary background and context in which the books of the New Testament were written.

The interpretation question stood out to me most because it outlines the main ideas of each book. I think it is imperative to understand the time period and all events, including the main events to grasp what the writer is sharing.

It is important to know the historical context of each book so that things aren’t taken out of context and incorrectly applied.

As I learn more about the Historical context through which the New Testament was written, I have a better understanding of how the context of our current culture can affect the lens through which we read and understand the Bible. I think this will help me gain an appreciation for how God’s Word transcends time and culture to influence all believers in past and present ages.

Contemporary application has always been a great interest to me. Studying the bible and learning scripture, history is great but knowing how to apply what I’ve learned is most important to me. Learning more about what is contained in the scriptures is my source of how to live and follow Christ.
