God went to the people in search of them. God showed his love and compassion by showing up for his people.

It shows God’s grace and mercy towards us. Without those two things we would all be destined to a life in hell. It also shows God’s faithfulness to His people.
-
It is significant because God went to the people. It shows us that He meets us where we are in life- we do not have to clean up our act in order to have His love.
-
It’s significant because He didn’t have to reach out to us. He could have left us in our sin and allowed us all to experience the punishment we deserve.

It shows us the character of God , His love and holiness . Too many times people concentrate on God’s love , that He will always accept us but forget that He is holy. It gives us hope revealing God’s incredible plan of salvation . He will reach out to us, He will forgive us , but at some point there must be repentance and a turning back to Him.
