The Old Testament is a book filled with a description of the God that created us, love us, and desires to spend eternity with us. if we are to spend our lives without getting to know God (Mat 7:23), we are in danger of spending eternity separated from him.

This is significant because this shows us how God is. It shows us his character and also reveals our character too.
