Lesson Overview
In this lesson, we’ll continue to outline the calling process as we focus on discernment and the various means God can use to invite us to join Him in His work.
This can happen through both supernatural means, such as signs, dreams, and prophets, and natural means, such as other people, gifts, experiences, passions, circumstances, God’s Word, and prayer.
Lesson Objectives
When you complete this lesson, you should be able to do the following:
- Describe discernment and how it may take shape in one’s life.
- Identify and describe both supernatural and natural ways God communicates calling.
- Explain cautions that should be taken with certain means of calling.
- Describe what responding to God’s calling looks like.
Personal Reflection
As you proceed through this lesson have the following question in mind.
Are you spending regular time listening to God through time in His Word and in prayer? If not, how can you make time for this? Are you surrendering to God, or are you currently resisting Him in any matter of your calling?
