Each of these disciplines grow your communion with God and man by way of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit brings the pages to life in the bible and reveals the Son. Fellowship and breaking bread are doing life together and communicating all the Lord is doing in each other. Prayer is both done in secret and together which further enhances relationship with the Lord and other believers.

God created us in relationship for relationship. God shares His heart with us through His word, through prayer and through fellow believers. This is how He communicates with us in fellowship through these three avenues.

To know God, we must know His word. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” and in Matthew the bible is described as the “living word of God” meaning it is alive and active. I find comfort in that because it says to me, God is always working- He is working through His Word!
God calls us to do life in community, therefore it is important to fellowship in community. God uses His people to convey His message at times and in community, through fellowship we worship, learn and support the body of Christ. Prayer is our direct line to God the Father, this is where we meet Him in all times of joy and pain, hurt and laughter. Through our prayers the Holy Spirit can intercede on our behalf and we strengthen our relationship with God.

Bible study is hearing from God through His Word.
Fellowship is hearing from God through His Body.
Prayer is speaking to God directly and hearing Him respond through the Holy Spirit.

Bible study, fellowship, and prayer all serve a purpose for a believer. God speaks to us and through us when we use all these forms of spiritual communication. When we spend time studying the Bible, we learn about how God works in our world and in the lives of believers. Prayer is a two-way communication system between us and God. Fellowship is a way that we express our faith to other believers. The Holy Spirit works through each of these forms of communication to highlight text to us, communicate words in prayer for us or others, or words from God for other believers when we fellowship.
